Stella was 52-years old mother living with his one and only son residing in small city called Manowi, Nebraska. Her son kyle is a junior high school student in level III. Kyle's father passed away when he was six , and thats when his mother started to run a coffee shop on street corner left by his deceased father for living .
Kyle's mother was apprised by her doctor that she had cancer few months after her 49th birthday. She fought cancer for two years until she became a sickbed patient. Stella's health condition began to worsen , and kyle was the only kin around left take care of her.
Kyle used to attend school early morning but due to her mother's condition, he was no longer able to attend it on time. His teacher would rebuke and punish him for being late in class every morning, but he never attended to the reasons of his unpunctuality. Day after day kyle started to miss classes as his mother's life was hanging on the thread, that subsquently drop his performance.
He was forthput to resit two courses by the end of the year. Time seems to pass quickly. It was in dayspring before kyle' leave for school in the beginning of his form III academic year. He was fixing broken water tap when he rushed for his ringing phone in the room to heard his mother's death. Doctor said to him that " his mother took her last breath 2-minutes ago". Droping his phone down on the floor was the first reaction to be done.
Kyle's mother death was promulgated at his school. Everyone was saying that Stella's life came to end after months in anguish. Kyle's teacher used to judge his upheaval, however he started to feel regretful for his actions and attitudes towards kyle. He came to realise that he never gave a chance to his student to explain his unpunctuality reasons.
By understanding Kyle's story I've came to realize that the same thing happens oftenly in our daily lives. Most of the times we judge and conclude before listening to the reasons behind what we've heard or seen.
Kindly note that every action &reactions, every behaviour or conduct , every spoken words and attitude displayed towards you had its reasons. Always go for rational instead of closure. It's better to place reasonability first before discernment. This will save our compunction and create a peaceful atmosphere everywhere. "LISTEN BEFORE YOU ACT".
This is amazing.. Thank you for sharing such a sad but teaching story. We got to be kind as everyone we meet is having hard times at a time

DeleteMy heart is touched by this. Thank you for sharing. A quote say" question everything and rule out nothing. Stop telling yourself what you think they should be, let them tell you what they really are.
ReplyDeleteGo for rational Instead of closure.
DeleteGreatful that it reminded you something.
Assumptions again!! Whenever I hear a story like this, I feel embarrassed by how damaging assumptions weake about the world and others ruin our lives. They make seeing hard when eyes are wide open and understanding when we really need to.
ReplyDeleteAssumptions could be our last choice in judgement.
DeleteIt's like you wrote this for me!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, it touched me in so many ways!! Let's not judge others without knowing what they passing through.
