My mother was a university student and at the same time a general practitioner at hospital .My father was busy working on his projects and that causes them to never have enough time to spend with us at home. I started looking after my siblings and do every chores at home when I was 8, where my family were no longer able to afford a house girl.
Our lives were never easy especially to me because I had to travel with baby every day at night to stay with my mum who was studying in a day and spent her night working in the hospital. I was studying my primary 2 and had a responsibility to care &carry baby back home in every morning before clock stricks 7:30am to miss my opening class bell ring.
Joyfully, my 10th birthday was celebrated at the hospital. I had friends who were doctors and my mother's coworkers at hospital who prepared gifts for my day. They asked me different questions to win over their gifts and were surprised that I could respond &think of something that can’t be thought by other kids at my age. Day after day they started to call me “genie” means genius.
I’ve had many hardships, struggles, misfortunes, and sometimes I had to do something that I’ve ever hated to do. Though now looking back, I cherish every moment & second I’ve spent in my past. Because my past is where I acquired every kind of knowledge and skills I retrieve for use today. It’s where I’ve been shaped, molded and colored into someone I am today.
Our past is our most treasure we’ve got to guard. Even if it’s composed of our rise &falls, happiness &sufferings, gains &loss, love &hate and everything which leaves bruises on our heart and body, but also it's our stock that will never run out. It will always be there for us to provide and help with our logical thinking, decision making, strategies to be used and path to be taken.
It is a foundation of our goals &dreams, achievements &depiction, emotions and feelings.Never quote your past as shame or loss, because it’s there to shape YOU not to define YOU. Value it and learn from it."YOUR PAST WAS NEVER YOU".

ReplyDeleteWhat about this quote "we should let go of our past in order to move on" how do we link this with your sayings? Thanks
Ooh thank you. The quote you mentioned here means that we should not let our past to carry our future. Link it to the last statement I've mentioned in the article. Your past was never you. Just learn from it but don't allow it to carry your identity.
